Mike earned his B.Sc. Physiotherapy Degree at Trinity College Dublin in 2017, where he later completed his M.Sc. in Sports and Exercise Medicine in 2020 under the prestigious Foundation Scholarship.
Mike is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA. He is passionate about implementing the principles of strength and conditioning with all of his rehabilitation programmes to ensure that his patient's are completely ready to return to their sport and activities.
Mike is also a TPI certified Medical and Fitness professional. As well as holding a TPI Power certification. Mike has worked extensively with golfers over the past five years and offers a comprehensive assessment for golfers to identify any body limitations which may be affecting their swing. He can then work with golfers to develop golf warm up routines, golf focused gym sessions and speed programs.
Mike previously worked with athletes and patients of all ages and abilities at the renowned Sports Surgery Clinic in Dublin and at the specialist rehabilitation and golf performance WellSport Clinic in Austin, Texas.
Upon completion of his M.Sc. Mike founded RAPID in November 2020 and has been growing the clinic and continually upgrading his skills in the areas of rehabilitation, strength and conditioning and sport performance since then.
Since founding RAPID he has helped over 1000 patients to find their problem and fix their pain. RAPID is rated as one of Dublin's Best Physiotherapy Clinic's with over 300 Five Star Reviews.
Mike founded the physiotherapist-led Master's Program in 2021 which has grown significantly over the past few years. The Master's Program is a strength and conditioning class for older adults, keeping them strong, active, healthy and pain free as they age. The slogan for the class is 'Use It Or Lose It' which is embodied by so many of our incredible members.
As an athlete, Mike has been an avid rugby player since he was 8 years of age. He has played on many successful teams with Terenure College School and Rugby Club. He was a Leinster Schools Junior Cup winner in 2010. He played on Terenure College RFC's u20's double winning teams in 2014 and 2015 which included their first McCorry in Cup 2014 and again in 2015. He has played with the Terenure College RFC First Team since 2015 which included the first AIL winning team in 2023 and the Bateman Cup winning teams in 2023 and 2024.
Mike takes a modern approach to physiotherapy, he looks at the entire body during his comprehensive assessment, looking for the root cause of the the issue, not just treating the symptoms. Mike favours active exercise rehabilitation and long term preventative programming rather than 'quick fix' / 'feel good' treatments which don't last.

Risteard is a clinical specialist physiotherapist who brings a wealth of specialised knowledge and experience to the RAPID team. With an impressive tenure at the UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic spanning nine years and over 10,000 clients, he progressed through the ranks to become a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist and lead their shoulder rehabilitation service.
Risteard has worked closely with Ireland’s leading Orthopaedic, Radiology and Sports Medicine Consultants and has a proven track record of managing injuries across general and sporting populations. His special interest lies in shoulder and upper limb rehabilitation; however, he is highly experienced in treating all types of injuries.
Risteard has broad experience working with athletes at elite and sub-elite levels across various sports. He was the Lead Physiotherapist for Dublin Senior Hurling for the 2022/23 season and the Cavan Senior Footballers for three seasons, including 2020, when they became Ulster Senior Champions. He has also been the Physiotherapist for Terenure College Junior and Senior Cup Rugby Squads over the last seven years. Risteard has been the Lead Physiotherapist with RTE’s Ireland’s Fittest Family over the last seven seasons.
His keen interest in high-performance sports stems from his background as a player with the Irish U18, U19, U20, and Club Rugby International teams. He was part of the Ireland U20 6 Rugby Squad in 2010 who became 6 Nations champions. He has ten years of experience playing Rugby in the AlL with Terenure RFC and UCD RFC including captaining UCD RFC in 2013/14 season where they finished 3rd in Division 1A. He has experience consulting with elite and professional athletes from various sports, including Rugby, Gaelic Football, Hurling, horse racing, soccer, MMA, gymnastics, weightlifting, volleyball and hockey. These experiences form a unique depth to his understanding of high-performance athletes’ needs.
Risteard is a committed advocate for healthy living and believes in the principles of exercise as medicine. Risteard strives to translate elite sports physiotherapy care to all levels of individuals who exercise. He has a passion for promoting exercise and preventative medicine. He has a wealth of experience working with individuals of all ages to help them overcome injuries and other barriers to achieving their health and fitness goals. He is a skilled coach accredited as a Strength and Conditioning Coach with the UK Strength and Conditioning Association.
He is completing a Master’s in Sports Physiotherapy from the University of Bath. Risteard’s academic contributions, including research published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, highlight his commitment to advancing his field. His extensive education includes a BSc in Health and Performance Science and a BSc in Physiotherapy from University College Dublin where he attended on a Sports Scholarship.
